Ladies Sing The Blues: Blues Queens Jam Night

The Mint LA partners with Ladies Sing The Blues, in partnership with the New Blues Festival, for a powerhouse night celebrating the living blues legacy carried forward by the women who define it.

With deep roots at The Mint and a shared commitment to authentic blues culture, this collaboration brings together community, heritage, and the fire of women-fronted blues, all backed by the electrifying VooDoo Revue.

The only show in Los Angeles that fronts all blues women.

Ladies Sing The Blues returns to The Mint with a high-energy, women-led night featuring some of the fiercest voices and bandleaders in the blues today. This curated showcase brings the fire with spotlights from Sharron Moore, Devon Rowland, and Pamela Franklin – three powerhouse artists whose voices carry grit, soul, and grown-woman truth.

The night explodes from there with performances by the legendary Scorch Sisters, Blues icon Maggie Mayall, the electrifying Margaret Love, guitar slinger Pam Taylor, and the unstoppable Lady Blues Renee.

Adding even more heat:

Brigitte Purdy, one of the most soulful voices in modern blues, and Kelly’s Lot, bringing their signature high-octane, roots-driven energy to the stage.

Vince White on guitar, Mike Hightower on bass, Vincent Fossett Jr. on drums, Gary Swan on keys, and Mark “The Harp” on harmonica — a world-class rhythm section delivering deep groove, tight feel, and unstoppable blues energy all night long. THE LADIES

Sharron Moore

Sharron Moore is a native Angeleno who proudly embodies the spirit of a true California girl while carrying the deep Southern charm of Louisiana instilled by her family. Music has always been at the heart of her life.

Gospel filled her home growing up, with her mother performing alongside the late great James Cleveland, shaping Sharron's early musical roots. Her influences run wide and deep — from gospel and jazz to soul, rock 'n' roll, and even punk — all shaped by the vibrant Hollywood music scene she grew up around. Jazz legend Nancy Wilson, a close family friend, also left a lasting impression on her musical path.

Sharron Moore has performed consistently across Los Angeles, Chicago, and cities beyond, bringing her powerful voice and dynamic stage presence to audiences everywhere. She is currently preparing to debut a new EP, with music soon to be available on Spotify. Fans can also find her performances on YouTube.

Devon Rowland

Devon Rowland is a powerful and expressive vocalist on the Los Angeles music scene, known for her commanding stage presence and soulful delivery. She released the album Devon Rowland & Crazy Heart, with blues guitarist and songwriter Vince White, showcasing her dynamic vocal style and emotional depth as a recording artist.

A Founding Queen of Ladies Sing The Blues at The Mint LA, Devon has become a standout presence in Los Angeles' blues community. She has also opened for notable acts including The Motels and Berlin, continuing to earn recognition across the city's vibrant live music scene.

Pamela Franklin

Pamela Franklin is widely regarded as one of the most powerful blues vocalists on the Los Angeles blues scene. With a rich tone and commanding stage presence, she captivates audiences with performances that blend deep emotion with authentic blues storytelling.

Raised in a family where music and the arts were deeply valued, Pamela developed a lifelong connection to the blues. Today, she continues to inspire audiences across Southern California, carrying forward the spirit of the blues with passion, strength, and soul.

BANDLEADER

VINCE WHITE

Vince White has dedicated his whole life to music, specializing in all blues-based forms of music: rock, country. old-school to contemporary.  Over the last several years he has shared the stage with many of his guitar-playing heroes, including BB King (3 times), Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Jimmie Vaughan, Wynonna Judd, Robben Ford, Dick Dale, Lou Ann Barton, Pointer Sisters, Macy Gray, Berlin, The Motels, Ian Hunter, Robben Ford, Leon Russell, John Mayall, and many others.

As a full-time musician, he teaches guitar during the day (in person or via Skype: blues9981) and does session work in various studios, then spends his nights performing throughout the Los Angeles area.

He runs a Wednesday night blues jam at Therapy at The Roar Room in Glendale, CA Wednesday nights (8:00PM – Midnight) with his band Vince White and “The Flying V’s” and is the frontman for Mr. Soul: a Neil Young Tribute Band.  He also exclusively plays Gibson guitars through Fender amps. and owns his own music publishing company Secret Sidewalk Music (BMI).
